DESCRIPTION:The Montgomery Dragon Boat Festival is back for the 11th year! We are excited to welcome our past teams back to the water and introduce new teams to Dragon Boat racing. \nThe festival will be held on Saturday\, June 14th\, 2025 in Riverfront Park on the beautiful Alabama River from 9am til around 3pm. The festival is free to attend for spectators and fans. \nThe Montgomery Dragon Boat Festival is an annual community event at Riverfront Park that brings together thousands of Montgomerians to enjoy our beautiful Alabama River and celebrate teamwork and community. The highlight of the festival is the exciting dragon boat races. Long\, narrow boats decorated with dragon heads and tails are paddled by teams to the beat of a drum. These races are both a competitive sport and a cultural spectacle\, symbolizing strength\, teamwork\, and the spirit of the festival. \nFor sponsorship opportunities please contact info@lightningline.co. All corporate sponsorships include a team registration. If you want to support the event but do not have a full team\, you can sponsor a team from the Air Force\, a local high school\, a non-profit\, or another group of your choice. \nAll proceeds raised will benefit River Region Trails\, Inc.\, a regional non-profit working to develop pedestrian and cycling infrastructure to enhance community health\, quality of life\, economic development\, tourism\, and equality. In particular\, they are working to extend the Riverfront Greenway in 2025 which will open up more opportunities for getting out on the water!
