Matt Kessler visits for a talk about “The Wiregrass: A Tale of Murder and Retribution in the Deep South”

Matt Kessler, a journalist with The Guardian, is our bookstore guest on Thursday, October 15 at 5:30pm with his new book, The Wiregrass. Set in 1999 Ozark, Alabama, the work tracks the true-crime murder of two teens, uncovering a forgotten corner of the Deep South and the chilling web of police corruption, violence, and miscarried justice beneath its surface. The book is captivating and richly reported. Kiese Laymon calls it “a revelation,” saying, “Kessler has set a new standard of storytelling with this one.” Kessler will be in conversation with author Foster Dickson. Join us!
